It was here that some of the most outstanding writers of the Golden Age of Spain lived and worked - Miguel de Cervantes, Francisco Gomez de Quevedo, Luis de Gongora, Jose Echegaray y Eizaguirre, Lope de Vega. The squares and streets of Barrio de las Letras are named after writers - for example, several ancient houses in which writers lived have been preserved.Now this area has become quite a fashionable location and a favorite place for the promenade among both locals and travelers. There are boutiques, art galleries, bookstores, antique shops, and numerous tapas bars. This is where we will have dinner.Day 2. April 28, Sun.✅️10.00We start the day at the famous Prado Museum (a tour with a Russian-speaking guide inside the museum is included).During the excursion: we will see the main masterpiece of the museum and undoubtedly the masterpiece of Velazquez “Las Meninas”, we will learn the secret of the painting. Let's get acquainted with the sensual works of Francisco Goya "Maja Nude" and "Maja Dressed" and learn the details of the artist's life's ups and downs. Let's admire the creations of the “professor of fantastic visions” Hieronymus Bosch. The Prado Museum is rightfully considered the artist's home - it contains 6 works by the great Fleming. We will read the encrypted messages and symbols of his strange phantasmagoric work “The Garden of Earthly Delights” and find a self-portrait of the artist.✅️After the museum we will go for a walk to the famous Retiro Park.Once this beautiful park, the pride of Madrid, served as royal gardens; King Charles III made it available to the city's residents. On its territory there are several reservoirs, countless walking alleys, and sculpture.✅️Then we will take a walk to the Anton Martin market. This is a real, non-tourist market, where locals buy food, in addition, there are many restaurants and bars on the market to suit every taste.We can have lunch here.✅️And after lunch we will go to the Royal Palace.This is the main attraction and symbol of the Spanish capital. For two hundred years this place was the official residence of the kings of Spain, and today it is the largest palace and park complex in Europe. The palace is famous for its lush and rich interiors - painted ceilings, gilded walls, crystal chandeliers, marble staircases and furniture from the best Italian and Spanish craftsmen.✅️Closer to sunset, we will go up to the observation deck of the Society of Fine Arts and look at the whole of Madrid from there.✅️21.15 (optional) Let's visit the best Tablao Flamenco in the country with an award from the King of Spain and a Michelin star for the cuisine. We'll see a great show and taste the menu from star chef David Garcia.Day 3. April 29, Mon.✅️10.15 Toledo (ancient capital of Spain)Full-day guided tour of Toledo.First, we will go to observation platforms with a magnificent view of the city.Then we will walk around ancient Toledo.We will see the grandiose Alcazar Castle, perhaps the only building in the city, which is perfectly visible from almost every corner of Toledo, we will get acquainted with the preserved examples of Arab culture in the main square of the city of Socodover, we will see the Cathedral, one of the most grandiose cathedrals of medieval Europe, it is second only in size to cathedrals in Milan and Seville, and in luxury and solemnity of decoration it surpasses all other cathedrals in Europe.We will walk through the Jewish quarter, where the mixture of three cultures is best felt - Arab, Jewish and Christian, along the narrow streets of the 16th century, we will see numerous workshops where they make swords, swords, daggers, knives, for which Toledo has been famous since the times of the Romans.There will be time for an independent walk around the ancient capital of Spain.✅️17.25We are leaving back to Madrid.✅️Evening.Walk in the Salamanca area.We will see respectable bourgeois Madrid, streets of wealthy people and fashionable shops.This is not just an area of the capital, but a combination of architecture, Madrid's best shopping, historical sites and fine dining. And in the Salamanca area there is a market called Mercado de La Paz, where they sell wonderful delicacies.✅️We can have dinner in a trendy area of bars and restaurants, where the locals themselves go, in one of the establishments on the recommendation of our guides.Day 4. April 30, Tue.✅️Early in the morning we leave by train to Granada. (3.5 hours)Our journey to colorful Andalusia begins.✅️Arrival, check-in at a hotel in the city center (breakfast included)✅️Guided tour of the main attractions of Granada.Granada's historic center is impressive. We will visit the Cathedral, built in the 15th century on the site of a mosque, and the Royal Chapel, located nearby, where the remains of Columbus' patrons Isabella of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon, who recaptured Granada from the Moors, are kept. Let's take a walk through the streets of the Albaicin quarter and understand why this colorful area is included in the list of World Heritage Sites. Let's take a look at the San Nicolas observation deck, which offers wonderful views of the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada mountains... And all this to the sound of guitars from street musicians, who add magical notes to this unforgettable atmosphere...✅️In the evening we will visit the Sacromonte area, whose history is closely connected with the art of flamenco.We will attend (optional) a performance in one of the natural caves that flamenco groups use as stage venues.Day 5. May 1, Wed.✅️Today we will visit the most famous palace of the Spanish south - the Alhambra, the former residence of Muslim rulers, and take a walk throughout the huge palace and park complex. The most significant objects of the Alhambra are the Palace of Charles V, the Lion's Courtyard and its fountain, the Myrtle Courtyard, the Hall of the Two Sisters and the Queen's Boudoir, the summer residence - the Generalife and the gardens.It is important to buy tickets in advance; the Alhambra is one of the most popular museum sites in Spain.✅️After such a busy day, we can relax and have dinner in the colorful establishments of the Realejo quarter or visit a traditional hammam with pools and massages.Day 6. May 2, Thu.✅️Early in the morning we move by train to Cordoba. ( 2 hours)✅️This city, carefully preserving the heritage of representatives of many cultures, stands on the Guadalquivir River, in the heart of Andalusia.Let's take the whole day to explore its historical center, included in the UNESCO list.✅️We will visit the Mezquita (Cordoba Cathedral Mosque) - one of the most significant historical monuments of Western Islamic architecture and one of the 12 architectural wonders of Spain. It is surrounded by an orange orchard, where you can relax on a hot day.We will see the Alcazar Palace, built on the site of a Moorish fortress and for more than two thousand years served as the residence of the rulers of Cordoba. It was in it that Isabella of Castile received Columbus and listened to the plan for his journey to India.✅️We will have lunch at one of the traditional restaurants in the city. Let's try local cuisine specialties - cold salmorejo soup, meat flamenquins or stewed oxtail.✅️We will walk through the labyrinth of streets of the Jewish Quarter, see the most important synagogue in Spain, the house-museum of Sephardic Jews and Tiberiades Square. And, of course, we will definitely look into the local Cordoba courtyards full of pots of flowers, enjoy the multicolor and floral aroma and take many great photos!In the evening we move to Seville. Check-in to the hotel (breakfast included)Day 7. May 3, Fri.✅️Guided tour of Seville.Seville is rightly considered one of the most beautiful cities in Spain. We will get acquainted with its history from the legendary Tartessus to the powerful Habsburg and Bourbon dynasties. We will see the symbols of the city: the Golden Tower and the famous Maestrans bullring, talk about Don Juan and Carmen, bullfighting and flamenco.We will see the palaces where Spanish aristocrats lived - the San Telmo Palace, the Alfonso XIII Hotel-Museum. And, of course, the monuments included in the World Heritage List, we will get acquainted with the most diverse Seville architecture - from the Mudéjar style to the Renaissance and Baroque.On Triumphal Square (Plaza del Triunfo) we will visit the Cathedral, one of the most spacious Christian churches in the world. Under the arches of the cathedral lie the remains of Christopher Columbus. The cathedral tower, the Giralda, whose height is almost 100 meters, was at one time one of the tallest in the world, and is now considered the symbol of Seville. This tower, built in the 12th century. and originally a minaret of the Great Mosque of Seville, stands out from the background of the cathedral with its architecture in the Moorish style.Opposite is the Royal Alcazar of Seville, a palace complex occupied by rulers from different eras, with absolutely magical gardens laid out around its walls. One of the city's iconic landmarks, some scenes from Game of Thrones were filmed in the Alcazar.We will take a walk to the Santa Cruz quarter, see former synagogues, and learn the history of the Jewish community of Seville. You can really feel the spirit of the city. Narrow streets, small squares where you can sit and relax, bars where we will be offered traditional tapas (by the way, they are believed to have been invented in Seville!) and no less traditional dishes - gazpacho, Seville "menudo" (offal dish ), fried gypsy eggs and marinated fish.✅️In the afternoon we will visit Plaza de España - one of the most beautiful in Western Europe. Many consider it the most beautiful city square in the world. It was designed in 1929 for the Ibero-American Exhibition and is now a favorite walking spot for local residents. By the way, one of the Star Wars episodes was filmed in Plaza de España.✅️In the evening we’ll go to one of the local tablaos - we’ll continue to be inspired by the art of flamenco, because we’re in Andalusia!Day 8. May 4, Sat✅️Today we are walking around Seville on our own.✅️we will visit the other side of the Guadalquivir River.One of the most unique quarters of Seville, Triana, is located there.Lively, popular with bullfighters, flamenco dancers and ceramic artists.✅️We'll visit Mercado de Triana, a famous local food market with colorful stalls where you can find everything from fruits and vegetables to seafood and spices.✅️Let's stop by the Ceramics Center to learn more about the production of ceramic tiles in Seville, and then walk through the ceramic shops on Castilla Street, and we will certainly choose some souvenirs in the Mudejar style.✅️Here we can also take a gastronomic walk, moving from one tapas bar to another.✅️And we’ll go to watch the sunset at the famous “Mushrooms of Seville” (“Metropol Parasol”). This unique piece of art, designed by architect Jürgen Mayer, is a special platform with panoramic views of the city and claims to be the largest wooden structure in the world. May 5, Sun.✅️Today we’ll go explore the surrounding area.Let's go to the small and amazing town of Setenil da las Bodegas.The city is unique in that it presents a unique, one-of-a-kind architectural landscape. It was created in a gorge cut by the Trejo River. Multi-ton rock vaults hang over the streets of the city, thereby protecting it from the winds and scorching sun. You walk along the alleys and it seems that a heavy boulder is about to fall on your head, but the locals are so used to this that they managed to harmoniously fit their small houses, shops and bars into such a unique landscape.✅️Then we’ll go further, to Ronda, hovering over the abyss.Ronda is one of the most unusual cities in the world.It is located on the top of a mountain, above the deep El Tajo gorge, essentially between two sheer cliffs. We will see an impressive stone bridge connecting the two parts of the city. Let's wander through the labyrinth of cramped streets and look for Arab influence in architecture. Let's walk along the Bullfighters' Walk of Fame and see one of the oldest and most beautiful bullrings in Spain.And, of course, we will visit beautiful viewing platforms with stunning views of endless valleys and vineyards and taste local wines and local specialties in wonderful city taverns.In the evening we will return to Seville to enjoy this magnificent city a little more.Day 10. May 6, Mon.✅️After breakfast and final shopping for souvenirs, we will depart from Seville to Malaga.The birthplace of Pablo Picasso, this is a city overflowing with modern art museums, where skyscraper hotels connect with centuries-old historical monuments such as the Alcazaba and the Gibralfaro fortress.Vintage buildings betray the city's Moorish heritage, while the modernized port district showcases its modernity, with lively bars and seafood restaurants attracting crowds of visitors. The city captivates not only with its art and history, but also with the amazing beaches that dot the Costa del Sol, the coastal strip in the south of Andalusia, of which Malaga is part.We will certainly take a walk through the historical center of the city, if we want to touch art, we will visit the Picasso Museum, and we will try not to miss the opportunity to spend an hour or two on the beach.Day 11. May 7, Tue.After a delicious breakfast! We don't say goodbye, but say goodbye!
